Job Requirements
- Minimum of 3-5 years experience in a similar role at an upscale hotel
- Excellent phone and verbal communication skills
- Previous supervisory hotel experience preferred
- Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, holidays
- Union experience preferred
- Ability to stand and sit for prolonged periods
- Ability to perform tasks requiring sustained repetitive motion
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with guests
- Ability to handle cash and credit transactions
- Ability to adhere to grooming standards
- Ability to exemplify Sonesta service excellence
- Ability to lift items up to 50 lbs and push/pull up to 200 lbs
- Ability to train staff
- Ability to perform basic arithmetic including percentages
- Ability to utilize basic office equipment
- Ability to maintain regular attendance

Job Duties
- Perform all guest service representative tasks in a superior manner
- Oversee late checkout and stay over requests
- Manage all room changes
- Oversee showrooms for sales and catering
- Monitor hotel availability in the local area
- Complete and communicate all appropriate computer-generated reports in a timely manner
- Oversee preparation of VIP arrivals
- Oversee preparation for group arrivals
- Ensure the credit check report is completed on every shift
- Manage airline crew arrival preparation process
- Report and log all guest issues and update guest profiles accordingly
- Ensure all room discrepancies are cleared
- Oversee blocking of special room requests for next day arrivals
- Maintain a neat and orderly control desk and area
- Present a polished and professional role model image to guests, coworkers, and other departments
- Complete shift checklist duties in a timely manner and alert Front Office Director if assistance is needed
- Perform other duties as assigned by Front Office Manager, Director of Operations, and General Manager
- Coordinate out of order rooms with housekeeping and engineering
- Ensure posting of all charges
- Inspect associates at the beginning of each shift to ensure grooming standards are met
- Conduct pre-shift meetings before the start of each shift
- Prepare and post department schedules by weekly deadline
- Ensure Travel Pass enrollment weekly and monthly goals are met
- Review Guestware, update Travel Pass member status, and prepare welcome letters accordingly
- Ensure daily, weekly, and monthly goals are met
- Monitor ADP, correct missing punches, and approve payroll
- Assist in controlling expenses and minimizing waste in all front office areas
- Participate in preparation of annual departmental operating budget and financial plans
- Learn, understand, and apply all union contract expectations to avoid grievances
