Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum one year of relevant work experience
  • No supervisory experience required
  • No license or certification required
  • Ability to work full time
  • Availability to work onsite at Marriott Marquis Houston
  • Proficiency in guest-facing communication
  • Physical ability to stand, sit, or walk for prolonged periods
  • Ability to move or lift objects up to 10 pounds unaided

Job Duties

  • Assist staff to expedite problematic payments
  • Follow up with guests to ensure satisfaction with issue resolution
  • Process guest check-ins by confirming reservations, assigning rooms, and issuing room keys
  • Handle all types of guest payments including cash, checks, debit, and credit cards
  • Anticipate room availability shortages and secure alternative accommodations
  • Process guest check-outs including disputed or late charges
  • Attend to guest calls, messages, requests, and inquiries
  • Coordinate with housekeeping to confirm room readiness
  • Prepare daily reports on arrivals and departures, identify special requests and verify reports
  • Collect personal and traveler checks from guests
  • Review employee shift logs and daily memo books and document pertinent information
  • Compute cash box at the start and end of shifts
  • Balance and deliver receipts as per accounting guidelines
  • Assist management in training, motivating, and mentoring employees
  • Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe working conditions
  • Conduct safety training and obtain safety certifications
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures
  • Maintain professional appearance and confidentiality
  • Anticipate and fulfill guest service needs
  • Communicate clearly and professionally
  • Foster positive working relationships
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards
  • Perform physical duties such as standing, walking, and moving light objects
