Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) desired but not essential
  • Previous related experience in hospitality or front desk service preferred
  • Comfortable working in a computerized environment
  • Ability to work well and communicate effectively with team members and other departments
  • Ability to read and write English
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical computations including adding, multiplying, calculating room rates, taxes, and percentages
  • Effective communication with hotel guests and clients using courtesy, tact, and diplomacy
  • Excellent verbal and telephone skills
  • Ability to remain calm and organized under pressure
  • Ability to follow directions accurately and efficiently

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) desired but not essential
  • Previous related hospitality or front desk service experience strongly preferred
  • Comfortable working in a computerized environment
  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members and guests using courtesy and tact
  • Excellent verbal and telephone skills
  • Ability to remain calm and organized during multiple demands
  • Ability to read, write, and perform mathematical calculations such as room rates, taxes, and percentages
  • Follow directions accurately and efficiently

Job Duties

  • Complete and stay current on all HGI mandated training and certifications
  • Accurately make reservations for guests staying with hotel
  • Always protect the security and privacy of guests and clients
  • Check guests into the hotel following the proper steps of check-in
  • Check guests out of the hotel following proper steps and providing a fond farewell
  • Communicate with bell/driver staff to ensure timely pick up and drop off of guests
  • Accurately record information for wakeup calls and input into PBX phone console
  • Assist guests with billing inquiries
  • Assist and direct guests to meeting rooms
  • Stay informed on current and upcoming meetings and functions
  • Be knowledgeable of surrounding area attractions and dining options
  • Assist guests with questions about hotel amenities and hours of operation
  • Assist management with arrivals, HHonors assignments, and amenities to exceed guest expectations
  • Exceed guest expectations by demonstrating exemplary behavior and service
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, cooperation, loyalty, and superior service
  • Ensure brand standards of operations, safety, and services are always maintained
  • Follow financial control procedures for cash, vouchers, inventories, and receivables
  • Assist with group information entry and banquet billing as requested
  • Coordinate with Housekeeping and Engineering to fulfill guest requests and maintain the hotel in excellent condition
