Job Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of front office experience
- Ability to type at least 40 words per minute
- Excellent computer skills
- Knowledge of filing and charting procedures
- Ability to use calculator and office equipment
- Degree or certification in medical assisting preferred
- One year of experience with eClinical Works (eCW) or similar EHR systems preferred
- Bilingual Spanish/English preferred

Job Duties
- Greet and check in patients in a courteous, friendly and professional manner
- Verify patient information including insurance, address, and telephone number and update practice management system accordingly
- Provide new patient and annual update forms to patients and review for completeness and accuracy
- Scan completed forms and insurance cards into the practice management system within 24 hours of patient visit
- Verify patient identity by requesting government issued photo ID and scan into system
- Determine correct co-payment amounts and collect all payments including bad debts and outstanding balances
- Answer patient questions about accounts and clinic services
- Assist with chart preparation including flowsheet and medical record retrieval
- Check patients out, schedule follow-up appointments, and scan completed flowsheets
- Ensure compliance with all HIPAA requirements, maintain patient confidentiality, and follow release of information protocols
- Assist call center with incoming calls and route to appropriate personnel
- Perform other related duties assigned by the Practice Administrator
- Model the organization’s mission, vision, and shared values through accountability
- Maintain a clear understanding of internal customer needs and preferences
- Promote teamwork by assisting colleagues as needed
- Apply innovation and continuous improvement in work processes
