Job Requirements

  • Three years of related experience
  • minimum one year of front desk/receptionist and scheduling experience in a healthcare setting
  • proven experience with insurance and authorization verification
  • prior cash handling experience
  • possess knowledge of third party payors including federal, state and private health plans
  • demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology
  • ability to work in an interactive environment
  • excellent customer service skills
  • excellent communication skills both verbally and in writing
  • ability to articulate complex ideas clearly
  • possess professionalism, credibility, commitment to high standards, innovation, judgment and accountability
  • must be able to work various hours and locations
  • may be required to float to other sites
  • must be able to work overtime
  • subject to criminal background check
  • subject to pre-employment physical

Job Qualifications

  • Three years of related experience
  • at least one year of front desk/receptionist and scheduling experience in a healthcare setting
  • proven experience with insurance and authorization verification

  • EPIC experience preferred
  • specialty clinic experience preferred
  • bilingual Spanish/English preferred
  • experience with referrals preferred

Job Duties

  • Perform and coordinate general front office duties
  • manage reception and greeting of patients
  • collect co-payments accurately
  • schedule patient appointments
  • handle referral and authorization processes
  • serve as a resource for patients, physicians, staff and ambulatory care service managers
  • assist with insurance and authorization verification
  • maintain professional communication with diverse audiences
