Job Requirements

  • Completion of high school or equivalent
  • Previous general office experience
  • Prior receptionist or front office experience in healthcare or dental setting preferred
  • Strong computer and data entry skills
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment

Job Duties

  • Answer and direct incoming phone calls in a professional and courteous manner
  • Schedule, confirm, and adjust patient appointments as needed
  • Print and distribute daily schedules for the following day
  • Open the front office each morning and ensure the reception and waiting areas are neat, tidy, and welcoming
  • Maintain and monitor office workflow, notifying patients of delays as needed
  • Collect payments as necessary and provide accurate receipts and documentation
  • Verify patient insurance information prior to or at the time of appointment
  • Download, scan, and file X-rays and referrals received via email or the practice website
  • Enter and update insurance and patient information in the system
  • Send thank-you letters and X-rays to referring dentists
  • Sort, file, and return unused referral letters and X-rays to the appropriate offices
  • Pre-register new patients and ensure charts are assembled and organized correctly
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records and charts
  • Provide backup support for the Patient Coordinator and Insurance Coordinator during absences
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Team Lead or Practice Manager
  • Patient interaction by answering phones, assisting patients in scheduling, and creating patient accounts
  • Administrative support including checking patients in, posting payments, and converting treatment plans
  • Surgery coordination by scheduling surgeries and ensuring preparations are made
  • Team collaboration to handle administrative tasks seamlessly
  • Embrace versatility and adaptability within the practice
