Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • One to two years of front desk or receptionist experience
  • Knowledge about crisis prevention, intervention and resolution techniques
  • Ability to match such techniques to particular circumstances and individuals
  • Knowledge to mediate and negotiate conflict
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to multi-task and pay attention to detail
  • Ability to follow directions and procedures in front desk manual
  • Understanding of low income and homeless individuals and their needs
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Basic math and analytic skills
  • Strong organizational skills

Job Duties

  • Greet and assist residents and visitors at the front desk
  • Answer and direct phone calls promptly and courteously
  • Manage entry and exit access to the community
  • Maintain accurate records and log books
  • Provide information and refer inquiries to appropriate staff members
  • Perform basic administrative tasks including filing and scheduling
  • Handle conflict resolution and crisis intervention as needed
