Job Qualifications
- high school diploma or equivalent
- excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- experience in customer service or hospitality preferred
- ability to operate hotel management software such as FOSSE
- basic cash handling skills
- proficiency in multitasking and problem-solving

- knowledge of hotel safety and emergency procedures
Job Duties
- check guests in and out of the hotel
- make future reservations when necessary
- post valet charges and other miscellaneous charges to guest accounts
- administer hotel guest payment policies
- handle hotel phone system and transfer calls
- take messages for guests and hotel staff
- take, modify and cancel guest reservations, inputting details into FOSSE
- assist in verifying, balancing, and maximizing hotel room availability revenue
- coordinate with other departments to fulfill guest special requests
- communicate hotel facilities and services to guests at check-in
- maintain a friendly and welcoming demeanor when interacting with guests
- use the L.E.A.R.N model for guest recovery incidents
- answer guest questions about local area facilities
- manage shift cash transactions
- follow hotel cash handling procedures
- maintain hotel key security system
- administer key control for issued keys and keys left by guests
- manage guest safe deposit boxes
- fill out maintenance work orders
- know hotel emergency procedures
- follow hotel safety guidelines and quality assurance standards
- bring lost and found items to supervisor
- accommodate guest special requests courteously
- inform housekeeping of vacant dirty suites upon checkout
- update room status as housekeeping notifies changes
- communicate clearly
- distribute mail to guests and hotel staff
- notify management of front desk supply or equipment issues
- maintain inventory of guest service items
- track status of guestrooms for tours and maintenance
- notify housekeeping and maintenance about guestroom or grounds problems
- carry out reasonable management requests
