Job Requirements

  • Ability to frequently bend, lift, carry, twist, push, pull, reach, kneel

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior experience in hotel front desk or guest service role preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Familiarity with reservation systems such as FOSSE preferred
  • Ability to operate hotel phone systems
  • Basic cash handling and transaction experience
  • Knowledge of guest service standards
  • Capable of multitasking and problem solving
  • Friendly and professional demeanor
  • Ability to work effectively with other departments
  • Understanding of hotel safety and emergency procedures
  • Detail-oriented with organizational skills
  • Ability to read and communicate clearly

Job Duties

  • Check guests in and out of the hotel
  • Make future reservations when necessary
  • Post valet charges and other miscellaneous charges to guest accounts
  • Administer hotel guest payment policies
  • Handle hotel phone system and transfer calls
  • Take, modify, and cancel guest reservations, inputting information into FOSSE
  • Assist in verification and balancing of hotel room availability revenue
  • Coordinate with other departments to fulfill guest special requests
  • Communicate hotel facilities and services during guest check-in
  • Maintain a friendly and welcoming demeanor with guests
  • Use the L.E.A.R.N model for guest recovery incidents
  • Answer guest questions about local area facilities
  • Manage shift cash transactions and adhere to cash handling procedures
  • Maintain hotel key security system and administer key control
  • Manage guest safe deposit boxes
  • Fill out and deliver maintenance work orders
  • Know all hotel emergency procedures and follow safety guidelines
  • Adhere to hotel quality assurance standards
  • Manage lost and found items
  • Accommodate guest special requests courteously
  • Inform housekeeping of vacant rooms upon checkout
  • Update room status based on housekeeping notifications
  • Distribute mail to guest boxes and hotel staff
  • Notify management of front desk supply or equipment issues
  • Maintain inventory of guest service items
  • Track status of guestrooms used for tours and maintenance
  • Notify housekeeping and maintenance of room or grounds issues
  • Perform reasonable management requests within capability
