Job Requirements

  • Must be eligible to work in the United States
  • must be at least 17 years of age
  • ability to communicate effectively in English both orally and in writing
  • strong active listening and observation skills
  • ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • ability to understand verbal and written directions as well as workplace safety signage
  • ability to work as part of a team
  • bilateral fine motor skills and physical ability to manually handle or lift up to 50 pounds
  • willingness to work varied shifts including early mornings and evenings
  • ability to maintain a neat and professional appearance according to property standards
  • respect for confidential nature of front desk correspondence and transactions

Job Qualifications

  • Previous experience working in hospitality preferred but not required
  • outgoing and enthusiastic personality
  • strong listening and communication skills
  • proficiency in computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, email, and property management systems
  • ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • basic knowledge or interest in hospitality and customer service
  • ability to handle complaints and resolve issues diplomatically
  • capable of maintaining composure under pressure
  • ability to maintain accurate records and handle cash transactions
  • good organizational and problem-solving skills
  • basic knowledge of safety and security procedures

Job Duties

  • Greet guests with a smile and friendly verbal greeting using the guest's name when possible
  • register and orient arriving guests according to property standards
  • answer telephone and email inquiries with a pleasant demeanor, listening carefully and accurately recording information
  • manage guest reservations and operate property management and point of sale systems
  • handle guest check-outs, collect payments, and maintain guest accounts and folios
  • resolve guest complaints professionally and courteously, following up to ensure satisfaction
  • coordinate daily arrival and departure information and communicate effectively with internal departments
  • maintain neat and professional appearance
  • ensure security of room and supply keys and confidential information
  • perform light housekeeping duties around the front desk
  • deliver messages, faxes, and packages to guests in a timely manner
  • label lost and found items and report unsafe or unsanitary conditions
