Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- six months to one year related experience or training
- ability to operate property management and PBX systems
- strong customer service and communication skills
- ability to handle cash and balance shift bank accurately
- knowledge of local Charleston attractions preferred
- ability to solve practical problems and interpret instructions
- professional and well-presented appearance
Job Duties
- Provide high level of customer service
- conduct pre-assignment of hotel rooms including VIPs and special requests
- check in and out hotel guests in a professional and friendly manner
- answer all phone calls promptly and knowledgeably
- complete all shift checklist items
- follow key control policies
- maintain personal presentation standards
- ensure credit policies are followed and verify credit limits
- submit lost and found reports
- be knowledgeable of fire and emergency procedures
- open, secure, and balance daily shift bank
- monitor room availability
- review hotel selling status daily
- attend monthly department meetings
- coordinate with other hotel departments to ensure guest satisfaction
- answer questions and make arrangements for local services and attractions
- process and notify guests of mail and messages
- assist guests with sending facsimiles, mail, and messages
