Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • six months to one year related experience and/or training
  • ability to read, analyze, and interpret procedure manuals
  • ability to effectively present information and respond to guest questions
  • ability to solve practical problems with limited standardization
  • ability to interpret various instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • ability to operate Property Management System, email capture, and PBX system
  • accountability for balancing daily shift bank
  • maintain professional appearance including uniforms and hygiene
  • occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
  • ability to stand, walk, talk, hear
  • physical ability to perform essential job functions
  • work in a moderate noise environment

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

  • effective presentation and communication skills for responding to guest questions
  • ability to solve practical problems and interpret written, oral, diagram, or schedule instructions
  • proficiency operating Property Management System, email capture, and PBX system

  • strong organizational skills and commitment to quality service

Job Duties

  • Provide high level of customer service
  • conduct pre-assignment of hotel rooms, including VIPs, repeat guests, packages, and special requests
  • check in and out hotel guests in a confident, professional and friendly manner
  • answer all phone calls promptly and knowledgeably, ensuring complete and accurate information
  • complete all items on appropriate shift checklists (AM, PM, Third Shift) by end of shift
  • follow established key control policy
  • maintain professional appearance including uniforms and personal hygiene
  • ensure proper credit policies are followed and verify credit limit reports
  • submit all lost and found articles with completed reports
  • be knowledgeable of fire and emergency procedures
  • open, secure, and balance daily shift bank including cash, check, and credit card transactions
  • monitor room availability throughout the day
  • review daily selling status using yield management system
  • attend department meetings monthly
  • perform other duties as directed by supervisor
  • coordinate with other departments to ensure best guest satisfaction
  • answer questions and make arrangements for dining, entertainment, sports, tours, transportation, and other services, keeping accurate records
  • process and notify guests of facsimiles, mail, and messages and assist guests in sending them
