- Ability to coordinate effectively with housekeeping and maintenance departments
- Knowledge of safety and emergency procedures
- Ability to handle cash and credit transactions accurately
Job Duties
- Represents the hotel to guests during all stages of their stay
- Determines guest reservation status and length of stay
- Assists guests in completing registration cards and assigns rooms accommodating special requests
- Verifies guest payment methods and follows credit checking procedures
- Places guest and room information in appropriate front desk racks and communicates to relevant hotel personnel
- Works with housekeeping to keep room status reports updated and coordinates maintenance requests
- Maintains and supervises access to safe deposit boxes
- Uses suggestive selling techniques to promote rooms and hotel services
- Coordinates room status updates with housekeeping for check-outs, late check-outs, early check-ins, special requests, and part-day rooms
- Manages same day and future reservations and understands cancellation procedures
- Processes guest check-outs and uses proper telephone and message handling etiquette
- Attends department meetings and reads daily pass-on logs and bulletin boards
- Reports unusual occurrences to management and follows all safety and emergency procedures
- Maintains front desk cleanliness and neatness
- Adapts to scheduling changes as business demands require
- Follows all Lotus Management Inc policies and brand standards
