Job Requirements

  • High school or equivalent education
  • Prior experience in hospitality or customer service roles preferred
  • Ability to stand and exert mobility for up to four hours
  • Ability to lift up to 45 lbs and push/pull carts weighing up to 250 lbs
  • Basic knowledge of computer operation and software
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers including conflict resolution
  • Availability to attend scheduled training and meetings
  • Must maintain neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance according to company standards
  • Ability to follow safety, security, and privacy protocols
  • Flexibility to work varying schedules
  • Ability to perform repeated motions, bend, stoop, and operate office equipment efficiently

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in the hospitality industry preferred
  • Experience in a front desk or customer service role preferred
  • Strong communication skills, verbal, written and electronic
  • Good organizational and detail orientation skills
  • Proficient in basic computer skills including Windows OS, MS Office, PMS, PBX, Key system and POS
  • Excellent customer service and leadership capability
  • Ability to handle cash transactions accurately
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Knowledge of complex mathematical calculations and computer programs

Job Duties

  • Greet and welcome guests upon arrival
  • Execute the registration and checkout process at the front desk
  • Accept payment for guests accounts both at the time of registration and at checkout
  • Maintain a house bank and make a deposit and accurate reports of receipts daily
  • Cash checks and exchange currency for guests
  • Accurately handle cash transactions and balance a cash drawer to the given amount
  • Acknowledge rewards members and returning guests
  • Take and manage guest bookings, up-selling opportunities and telling them about ways to improve their stay
  • Review current days arrival reports and check all special request reservations to ensure that the room is blocked per request, VIPs identified, billing is set up correctly, deposits are taken, and other departments are notified of room assignment
  • Attend all scheduled training, departmental and hotel meetings
  • Ensure awareness of special promotions, daily activities, arriving VIPs, Group/Conferences in house, special requests, and scheduled shuttles
  • Practice safe work habits and ensure safe work practices to avoid injury
  • Ensure all privacy and security protocols are followed as well as company procedures
  • Answer all calls promptly and correctly transfer to appropriate departments
  • Confer and cooperate with other departments to ensure coordination of guest needs
  • Log all guest requests and room defects and follow up to ensure resolution
  • Answer inquiries about hotel policies, services, registration, shopping, dining, entertainment, and travel directions
  • Maintain knowledge of hotel services and facilities and general knowledge of the city
  • Maintain lobby cleanliness and organization
  • Assist in booking reservations
  • Assist with handling mail, packages, facsimiles, and guest items
  • Perform other duties as assigned by manager or supervisor
