Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • flexible schedule to include both AM and PM shifts, weekends and holidays
  • valid driver license with good driving record
  • ability to stand and move continuously throughout front office areas
  • ability to stand 95 percent of the shift
  • ability to lift up to 25 pounds
  • ability to perform occasional twisting, bending, stooping, reaching, standing, walking
  • frequent talking, hearing, seeing, and smiling
  • adhere to company policies and procedures
  • follow safety and security rules
  • maintain neat and well-groomed appearance

Job Qualifications

  • Graduation from high school or any equivalent combination of education, training, or experience
  • prior hospitality experience preferred but not required
  • considerable skill in use of a calculator and moderately complex mathematical calculations
  • ability to effectively deal with customers with patience, tact, and diplomacy
  • ability to read, listen, and communicate effectively in English verbally and in writing
  • ability to access and accurately input information into a moderately complex computer system
  • hearing and visual ability to detect signs of emergency situations

Job Duties

  • Greet customers immediately with a friendly and sincere welcome
  • complete the registration process by inputting and retrieving information from a computer system, confirming pertinent guest information, and selecting appropriate rooms
  • verify and imprint credit cards for authorization using electronic methods, handle cash, make change, and balance the house bank
  • promptly answer the telephone using positive and clear communication, input and retrieve messages, and communicate content to guests
  • close guest accounts at check out, ensuring satisfaction and resolving issues within guidelines
  • field guest complaints, research and resolve problems such as price conflicts or credit issues, remain calm and alert in emergencies, and maintain neatness of corridors and service areas
  • adhere to all company policies, safety, and security procedures, report unsafe conditions, and maintain a safe work environment
  • assist other front desk personnel as needed and perform related duties as requested by supervisor or manager
