Job Duties
- Process guest check-in by confirming reservations, assign rooms, and deliver and activate room keys
- process all types of guest payments including lodging charges, cash, checks, debit or credit cards
- manage guest check-out including disputed charges or late departures
- attend to, log, and respond to guest calls, messages, requests, questions, and concerns
- coordinate with housekeeping to ensure rooms are ready for guest arrivals
- communicate parking procedures to guests and visitors and dispatch bell or service staff as necessary
- provide directions and information about the hotel and local attractions
- prepare daily reports including arrivals and departures and special requests, verify report accuracy
- complete cashier and closing reports in the computer system
- collect personal and traveler’s checks from guests
- count the cash register at the beginning and end of shifts
- balance and deliver receipts according to accounting specifications
- comply with company safety and security policies and report accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions to management
- adhere to company policies and maintain professional appearance and confidentiality
- greet and recognize guests according to company standards, anticipate and fulfill their service needs with genuine appreciation
- assist persons with disabilities
- communicate clearly and professionally
- answer phones using appropriate protocol
- maintain positive work relationships
- follow quality assurance expectations and standards
- stand, sit or walk for prolonged periods
- move, lift, transport, push, pull, and position objects weighing up to 10 pounds without assistance
