Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior hospitality experience preferred but not required
  • Ability to stand and move throughout front office areas for 95 percent of shift
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
  • Occasional twisting, bending, stooping, reaching, standing and walking
  • Strong verbal communication skills
  • Must maintain neat, clean and well groomed appearance
  • Flexibility to work varying shifts including nights, weekends and holidays

Job Qualifications

  • Graduation from high school or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers requiring patience, tact and diplomacy
  • Ability to read, listen, and communicate effectively in English verbally and in writing
  • Ability to access and accurately input information using a moderately complex computer system
  • Considerable skill in the use of a calculator and preparing mathematical calculations without error
  • Hearing and visual ability to observe and detect signs of emergency situations

Job Duties

  • Greet customers immediately with a friendly and sincere welcome
  • Complete the registration process by inputting and retrieving information from a computer system, confirming pertinent information including number of guests and room rate
  • Verify and imprint credit cards for authorization using electronic acceptance methods
  • Handle cash
  • make change and balance assigned house bank
  • Promptly answer the telephone using positive and clear English communication
  • Close guest accounts at the time of check out and ensure guest satisfaction
  • Field guest complaints, conduct thorough research to develop effective solutions and resolve complications
