Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED certificate preferred and/or equivalent work experience
  • at least one-year guest service experience in hospitality environment or equivalent experience required
  • working knowledge of computer systems including Outlook, Microsoft products and industry-related systems
  • previous experience in accounting roles desired
  • alcohol awareness certification required
  • ability to be on feet throughout entire shift
  • ability to exert up to 30 pounds of force occasionally and/or 20 pounds frequently
  • ability to work long hours including nights and weekends
  • must be able to convey information and ideas clearly in oral and written form
  • must be effective in handling workplace problems
  • ability to evaluate and select alternative actions quickly and accurately
  • must be able to prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines
  • must be able to work alone with little or no supervision during night audit shift

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred

  • previous accounting experience desired

Job Duties

  • Approach all encounters with guests and team members in a friendly, service-oriented manner
  • maintain regular attendance in compliance with scheduling needs
  • maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming
  • comply with hotel standards and regulations
  • be attentive, friendly, helpful and courteous at all times
  • register guests promptly and courteously using brand standards and upselling techniques
  • prepare for group check-ins, check-outs, and VIP arrivals
  • process customer payments according to policies
  • respond to guest requests promptly and promote hotel services
  • resolve minor guest complaints and escalate major issues to supervisor
  • book reservations or coordinate with reservation center
  • handle departmental accounting and complete cashier’s report
  • balance bank daily
  • issue and control guest safe-deposit boxes
  • follow company policies and procedures
  • complete side work and cleaning duties per standards
  • confirm credit and payment methods at check-in and checkout
  • review room inventory and house count
  • maintain and understand special guest and franchise programs
  • conduct daily bank drop with a witness
  • run daily arrival reports and identify special requests
  • maintain clean and organized work area
  • maintain proper key control
  • distribute faxes, packages, and mail
  • distribute billing reports to hotel outlets
  • block large group check-ins and inform housekeeping
  • check with supervisor prior to end of shift
  • have thorough knowledge of local venues and directions
  • fully understand front desk system
  • perform other duties as assigned
  • attend meetings and training as required
