Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • previous front desk, reservations, concierge, bell desk or night audit experience
  • work authorization in the United States
  • ability to work varied shifts
  • strong communication skills

  • ability to handle cash transactions
  • knowledge of hotel policies and procedures

Job Duties

  • possess a thorough knowledge of check-in and check-out of guests
  • be completely familiar with all front desk computer operations and procedures for arrivals and departures
  • maintain control of all room keys and departmental keys and ensure proper sign out procedures
  • handle walk-ins, stay-over and room charges accurately
  • post charges to guests, master bills, and other applicable accounts
  • know room and rate policies and how to adjust package rates for stay changes
  • manage group arrivals and oversee check-in and check-out requirements
  • familiarize guests with hotel’s facilities and inform them of all in-house and external functions
  • conduct cash drawer counts at shift start and end and report discrepancies
  • communicate guest requests and special needs to housekeeping
  • ensure no check-outs with balances due
  • attend all front desk meetings and read shift logbooks
  • conduct weekly key inventories
  • manage telephone, mail, and message systems in accordance with business center procedures
  • consistently complete guest feedback forms and report complaints
  • stay informed of hotel and front desk concerns and inform supervisors
  • understand the operations and functions of related front office departments and departmental heads
  • perform any other tasks assigned by the front desk supervisor
