Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • ability to work various shifts including nights and weekends
  • good physical condition to stand, walk, lift up to 50 lbs occasionally
  • valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
  • willingness to be flexible with job duties
  • ability to read, write and speak English fluently
  • identification to establish identity
  • authorization to work in the United States
  • willingness to maintain grooming standards and wear uniform including name tag
  • compliance with safety and company policies
  • ability to use computer and software programs
  • completion of chemical and blood borne pathogen training

Job Duties

  • Provide the highest quality of service to guests at all times and anticipate and exceed guest expectations
  • give warm and sincere greetings
  • check guests in and out efficiently and in a friendly manner using guest’s name at least twice
  • anticipate guests’ needs and exceed their expectations
  • give guests a fond farewell and thank and invite them back
  • read, analyze, interpret and explain items such as common reports, guest folios, and emergency procedures
  • compute basic mathematical calculations including adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing
  • handle guest registration, room assignments and room blocking including accommodating special requests whenever possible
  • possess working knowledge of reservation procedures, cancellation and walk protocols
  • follow correct check-in/check-out procedures
  • answer telephones within three rings with a smile and assist or transfer calls as needed
  • manage issued bank, count bank at beginning and end of shift, report all cash over/shorts to management, make cash drops in compliance with cash handling procedures
  • comply with hotel and accounting procedures including credit card and check cashing
  • ensure all credit cards and cash funds balance during shifts
  • handle guest mail and messages
  • process requests for wake-up calls and “do not disturb” requests
  • operate hotel computer or property management system efficiently
  • develop knowledge of hotel services, staff, hours, room locations, rates, amenities and local surroundings
  • monitor room availability, sales strategies, discounts and frequent guest program benefits
  • maintain cleanliness of the desk area and uphold overall hotel cleanliness standards
  • forward lost and found inquiries to housekeeping
  • ensure confidentiality and security of guest and hotel information
  • report maintenance issues and complete work orders
  • attend work punctually and follow attendance policies
  • participate in daily pre-shift meetings
  • communicate effectively with guests, team members and management
  • respond to guest complaints professionally
  • practice safety standards including use of wet floor signs and personal protective equipment
  • transport guests in the hotel van when needed
  • adhere to proper lifting and moving procedures
  • maintain flexibility in job functions and perform assigned duties including redeployment
  • manage par levels of guest and team member items
  • wear uniform and name tag at all times
  • maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming
  • minimize damage and waste by careful handling of equipment and supplies
  • promote positive teamwork and morale
  • comply with all company work rules, policies and complete necessary training
  • possess fluency in English
  • perform any other duties as assigned
