Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • previous front desk or hospitality experience
  • work authorization in the United States
  • ability to work flexible shifts including mornings, mid-evenings, and evenings
  • strong communication skills
  • ability to operate front desk computer systems
  • customer service skills
  • knowledge of hotel policy and procedures
  • ability to manage cash and maintain accurate records
  • adherence to safety and emergency procedures

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Greet and register guests
  • process guest check-outs
  • manage front desk computer operations for arrivals and departures
  • control room and departmental keys ensuring sign-out procedures
  • handle walk-ins, stay-overs, and room charges
  • post charges to guest accounts and master bills
  • manage safe keys per property procedures
  • adjust room rates and packages as needed
  • monitor reservations and future availability
  • manage group arrivals
  • ensure no check-outs with balances due
  • familiarize guests with hotel facilities
  • maintain logbook and read current memos
  • manage cash drawer and report discrepancies
  • communicate guest requests to housekeeping
  • acknowledge return guests
  • know safety and emergency procedures
  • attend front desk meetings
  • conduct weekly key inventories
  • manage telephone, mail, and message systems
  • complete guest feedback forms
  • inform supervisors of any hotel or front desk concerns
  • understand operations of other front office departments
  • communicate with department heads
  • perform additional tasks as assigned by supervisor
