Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or G.E.D.
  • minimum 1 year customer service experience preferred
  • ability to work flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • proficiency in computers and facsimile machines
  • strong oral and written communication skills
  • ability to multi-task and handle stressful situations
  • willing to perform front desk, PBX, and concierge duties
  • availability to wear hotel GSA uniform
  • ability to stand, sit and walk for extended periods
  • able to lift up to 40 pounds occasionally
  • background screening and passing 80% on hotel PMS test after training
  • knowledge of safety and emergency procedures

Job Qualifications

  • at least a high school diploma or G.E.D.
  • preferably 1 year experience in customer service, hotel, food and beverage, restaurant, administrative, human resources, legal, educational, training, financial, or related fields
  • proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • experience with database management and data entry
  • knowledge of proper telephone etiquette
  • ability to multi-task and work under pressure
  • excellent communication skills both written and oral
  • ability to handle guest issues effectively
  • sales-minded with suggestive selling skills
  • emotional intelligence to manage disruptive emotions
  • flexibility to work various shifts

Job Duties

  • ensure appropriate checking in and checking out of guests
  • provide courteous and professional guest services
  • perform duties in front office, PBX, and concierge areas
  • handle guest registration and assign rooms
  • verify payment methods and credit checks
  • post guest and room information in the property management system
  • coordinate with housekeeping for room status updates
  • handle maintenance and repair requests
  • employ suggestive selling techniques to promote hotel services
  • assist with pre-registration and room blocking
  • generate secure room keys
  • manage billing and charge postings
  • handle mail, packages, and messages
  • attend department meetings and daily briefings
  • report unusual occurrences to management
  • maintain front desk cleanliness and organization
  • follow safety and emergency procedures
