Job Requirements

  • One year certificate from college or technical school or three to six months related experience and or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
  • ability to write simple correspondence
  • ability to speak English fluently
  • ability to interpret and perform basic computer and POS system functions

Job Duties

  • Operate the front desk according to standard operating procedures and with exceptional guest service
  • operate reservation, check-in, checkout, and credit card systems accurately following safety procedures
  • check registration cards for completeness and accuracy
  • maintain accurate cash sheets and balance cash drawer
  • operate switchboard and disperse calls, take and accurately relay guest messages
  • know and respond to emergency procedures
  • keep guest room numbers confidential
  • stay knowledgeable about hotel promotions and room amenities
  • understand physical layout of the hotel and nearby shopping areas
  • complete daily reports and audits
  • maintain cleanliness of lobby and office
  • set wake-up calls
  • prepare room status sheets for housekeeping update
  • verify credit card validity and acceptability
  • secure front desk area when unattended
  • create incident reports for guest issues
  • answer calls promptly and professionally
  • take and confirm reservations with accuracy
  • resolve guest complaints effectively
  • maintain regular attendance and punctuality
  • adhere to personal appearance and grooming standards
  • perform additional duties as assigned by supervisor
