Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Minimum age of 18 years
  • Must be 21 or older to drive for company business per BGC policy
  • One or more years of cooking-related experience or equivalent education and experience
  • Food handler certification required

  • Skilled in operating digital meters, dials, and calibrated scales
  • Competent in safely using and maintaining kitchen equipment such as fryers and grills
  • Ability to safely handle sharp objects like knives and box cutters
  • Proficient use of hand tools with steady hand for fine finger movements
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Attention to safety hazards and prompt reporting

Job Duties

  • Plan, prepare, and cook gourmet food according to recipe with effective portion control
  • Monitor and maintain stock levels of gourmet food through orders
  • Collaborate with deli personnel to plan, prepare, and fulfill catering orders
  • Enforce quality control and food safety standards, ensuring proper stock rotation
  • Make fine judgments on aroma, flavor, taste, texture, and color to inspect food quality
  • Promote product sales through appealing visual displays and suggestive selling
  • Provide friendly customer service by greeting customers, answering questions, presenting products, and taking phone orders
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary working and shopping environment by adhering to safety procedures
