Job Requirements

Ability to proficiently read, write, speak, analyze, interpret and understand English
Ability to perform basic math
Ability to stand, bend, twist, reach, push, pull and regularly lift 25 lbs, occasionally lift up to 50 lbs
Ability to work in varying temperatures
Ability to work with fresh, dried and/or processed products, spices and powdered substances without allergic consequences
Ability to tolerate dust and cleaning agents
Ability to maintain department sanitation and QA standards
Ability to interact with customers in a friendly and helpful way
Ability to work cooperatively with others
Ability to work all assigned schedules and comply with attendance policies
Must be 18 years or older to operate balers, hi-lo’s, power jacks and slicing machines

Job Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent
Previous retail or bakery experience preferred
Ability to communicate effectively in English
Basic math skills
Ability to follow safety and sanitation protocols
Customer service skills
Ability to work standing for long periods
Ability to handle physical demands of the job
Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment

Job Duties

Maintain a clean, neat, organized and safe work environment
Clean and sanitize all work surfaces, utensils and equipment according to sanitation and QA standards
Keep floor clear of debris and spills
Greet customers and provide prompt, courteous service
Maintain and properly use all department equipment
Pack out product into display cases
Rotate product to ensure freshness
Ensure accurate signage for the department
Prepare trays to company and customer satisfaction
Perform duties in accordance with local, state and federal bakery regulations
Dress and groom according to company policy
Follow QA hand washing standards and use disposable gloves
Place reclamation in its proper location
Unload trucks and transport merchandise up to 50 lbs
Check prices and product locations
Promote charitable promotions to customers
Stand for entire scheduled shifts
Receive deliveries
Assist other departments as instructed
Work overtime as needed
Follow HAZCOM program and safely handle chemical products
Receive, code date, prepare, store, price mark, arrange and restock products
Handle damaged and spoiled products
Check refrigeration equipment regularly
Adhere to company shrink guidelines
Utilize and maintain equipment
Complete department training programs
Maintain punctual and regular attendance
Work cooperatively with others
Operate balers, hi-los, power jacks and slicing machines if 18 or older
Perform other duties as assigned
