Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- previous bakery or food service experience preferred
- must be 18 years or older to operate balers, hi-lo’s, power jacks, and slicing machines
- physical ability to perform lifting, standing and other physical tasks
- ability to follow company policies and safety guidelines
- ability to work flexible hours including overtime
- strong communication skills
- ability to maintain sanitation and food safety standards
Job Qualifications
- Ability to proficiently read, write, speak, analyze, interpret, and understand English
- ability to stand and walk for entire shift
- ability to bend, twist, reach, push, pull and lift 25 lbs regularly and 50 lbs occasionally
- ability to work in varying temperatures
- ability to work with food products without allergic reactions
- ability to tolerate dust and cleaning agents
- ability to interact with customers in a friendly manner
- ability to work cooperatively with others
- ability to comply with work schedules and attendance policies
Job Duties
- Maintain a clean, neat, organized and safe work environment
- maintain department sanitation and QA standards
- clean and sanitize all work surfaces, utensils and equipment
- keep floor clear of debris and spills
- greet all customers and provide prompt, courteous service and assistance
- maintain and properly use all department equipment
- pack out product into display cases
- rotate product to ensure freshness
- ensure accurate signage for the department
- prepare trays to Company’s and customer’s satisfaction
- perform duties according to Local, State and Federal regulations
- dress and groom according to Company policy
- perform duties in accordance with QA hand washing standards and food handling safety
- follow recipes to produce food products
- operate equipment that cooks, mixes, blends or processes ingredients
- prepare special order requests
- track movement of sales on production logs
- take inventory weekly and reorder supplies
- place reclamation properly
- regularly lift, pull, push and rotate merchandise
- unload trucks and transport merchandise
- check prices and know item locations
- promote current charitable promotions
- stand for duration of scheduled shifts
- receive deliveries
- assist other departments
- follow Company HAZCOM program
- adhere to safety and security standards
- follow procedures for receiving, code dating, storing and price marking
- handle damaged and spoiled products
- understand and adhere to Company shrink guidelines
- maintain and report equipment issues
- check refrigeration equipment performance
- complete all department training
- perform in accordance with all Fresh Grocer Service Priorities
- maintain punctual and regular attendance
- work overtime as assigned
- work cooperatively
- operate machinery only if 18 or older
- perform other duties as assigned
