Job Requirements

  • Ability to stand or walk for the duration of a scheduled shift
  • Ability to bend, twist, reach, push, pull and regularly lift 25 lbs, occasionally lift 50 lbs
  • Ability to work in varying temperatures
  • Ability to work with products, spices and powdered substances without allergic reactions
  • Ability to tolerate dust and cleaning agents
  • Must be 18 years or older to operate balers, forklifts, power jacks, and slicing machines
  • Must comply with company grooming and uniform policies
  • Ability to maintain punctual and regular attendance
  • Ability to work overtime as assigned

Job Qualifications

  • Ability to proficiently read, write, speak, analyze, interpret and understand the English language
  • Ability to interact with customers in a friendly and helpful way
  • Ability to work cooperatively with others
  • Ability to work all assigned schedules and comply with time and attendance policies
  • Knowledge of baking procedures and equipment operation preferred
  • Previous experience in a retail bakery or food service environment is an asset
  • Ability to follow recipes and quality assurance standards
  • Basic math skills for inventory and sales tracking

Job Duties

  • Maintain clean, neat, organized and safe work environment
  • Maintain department sanitation and quality assurance standards
  • Clean and sanitize all work surfaces, utensils and equipment
  • Keep floor clear of debris and spills
  • Greet customers and provide prompt, courteous service
  • Maintain and properly use all department equipment
  • Pack out product into display cases
  • Rotate product to ensure freshness
  • Ensure accurate signage for the department
  • Prepare trays to company and customer satisfaction
  • Perform duties according to local, state and federal regulations
  • Dress and groom according to company policy
  • Follow hand washing and glove use standards
  • Follow recipes to produce food products
  • Operate equipment to cook, mix and process ingredients
  • Prepare special order requests
  • Track sales on production logs
  • Take inventory and reorder supplies
  • Place reclamation in the proper location
  • Lift, push, pull and rotate merchandise
  • Unload trucks and transport merchandise
  • Check prices and know store item locations
  • Promote charitable sales
  • Stand for duration of shift
  • Receive deliveries
  • Assist other departments as instructed
  • Follow HAZCOM and safety policies
  • Handle damaged and spoiled products
  • Use and maintain equipment
  • Check refrigeration regularly
  • Complete training programs
  • Maintain punctual attendance
  • Work overtime as assigned
  • Work cooperatively with others
