Job Requirements
- Ability to proficiently read, write, speak, analyze, interpret, and understand the English language
- Ability to stand and walk for the duration of a scheduled shift
- Ability to bend, twist, reach, push, pull and regularly lift 25 lbs, and occasionally lift 50 lbs
- Ability to work in varying temperatures
- Ability to work with fresh, dried and/or processed products, spices and powdered substances without allergic consequences
- Ability to tolerate dust and cleaning agents
- Ability to interact with customers in a friendly and helpful way
- Ability to work cooperatively with others
- Ability to work all assigned work schedules and comply with time and attendance policies
- Must be 18 years or older to operate balers, hi-los, power jacks, and slicing machines
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous experience in bakery or food service is advantageous but not required
- Proficient English reading, writing, speaking, and comprehension skills
- Ability to work cooperatively with others
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices is a plus
- Ability to follow recipes and operate bakery machinery
- Strong customer service skills
- Basic math and inventory management skills
Job Duties
- Maintain a clean, neat, organized and safe work environment
- Maintain department sanitation and quality assurance standards
- Clean and sanitize all work surfaces, utensils and equipment
- Greet customers and provide prompt, courteous service and assistance
- Pack out product into display cases
- Rotate product to ensure freshness
- Ensure accurate signage for the department
- Prepare trays to company and customer's satisfaction
- Follow recipes and operate bakery equipment
- Track sales and maintain production logs
- Take inventory and reorder supplies
- Handle deliveries and assist other departments
- Promote charitable sales
- Perform duties in compliance with safety, sanitation, and company policies
- Stand for the duration of scheduled shifts
- Use protective gear as required
- Perform other duties as assigned
