Job Requirements

  • Ability to proficiently read, write, speak, analyze, interpret, and understand the English language
  • Ability to stand and walk for the duration of a scheduled shift
  • Ability to bend, twist, reach, push, pull and regularly lift 25 lbs, and occasionally lift 50 lbs
  • Ability to work in varying temperatures
  • Ability to work with fresh, dried and/or processed products, spices and powdered substances without allergic consequences
  • Ability to tolerate dust and cleaning agents
  • Ability to interact with customers in a friendly and helpful way
  • Ability to work cooperatively with others
  • Ability to work all assigned work schedules and comply with time and attendance policies
  • Must be 18 years or older to operate balers, hi-los, power jacks, and slicing machines

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous experience in bakery or food service is advantageous but not required
  • Proficient English reading, writing, speaking, and comprehension skills
  • Ability to work cooperatively with others
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices is a plus
  • Ability to follow recipes and operate bakery machinery
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Basic math and inventory management skills

Job Duties

  • Maintain a clean, neat, organized and safe work environment
  • Maintain department sanitation and quality assurance standards
  • Clean and sanitize all work surfaces, utensils and equipment
  • Greet customers and provide prompt, courteous service and assistance
  • Pack out product into display cases
  • Rotate product to ensure freshness
  • Ensure accurate signage for the department
  • Prepare trays to company and customer's satisfaction
  • Follow recipes and operate bakery equipment
  • Track sales and maintain production logs
  • Take inventory and reorder supplies
  • Handle deliveries and assist other departments
  • Promote charitable sales
  • Perform duties in compliance with safety, sanitation, and company policies
  • Stand for the duration of scheduled shifts
  • Use protective gear as required
  • Perform other duties as assigned
