Job Requirements
- Be at least 16 years of age or older
- Ability to work varied shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Communicate effectively using hearing and speech
- Conduct visual inspections, read and follow production guides and recipes
- Perform basic math including addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication
- Exercise mental alertness and adhere to safety procedures around equipment
- Complete training courses and meet productivity and accuracy standards
- Wear required personal protective equipment such as hair nets and gloves
- Use cleaning chemicals and manage related food products safely
- Stand, walk, and move rapidly for extended periods
- Bend, stoop, twist, turn and reach frequently
- Occasionally lift up to 50 pounds and handle refrigerated goods
- Work around heat-emitting machinery
- Food Handlers Certification per state laws
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous experience in a food service or retail environment beneficial
- Ability to follow food safety and sanitation procedures
- Strong customer service skills with ability to communicate effectively
- Ability to operate fresh food production equipment safely
- Basic math skills to perform production calculations
- Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
- Food Handlers Certification as required by state law
Job Duties
- Seek opportunities to welcome, engage, serve, and thank customers
- Maintain an atmosphere of friendly, enthusiastic customer service
- Take orders, answer questions, and perform suggestive selling
- Prepare, stock, display, straighten, and rotate product in fresh food areas
- Prepare production items according to recipes, food safety procedures, and specified cooking times
- Handle frozen product
- Inspect all product for quality and freshness
- Prepare case by putting product in fresh pans, rotating product, filling, etc.
- Place proper signage on all products including pricing, description, code dating, and COOL information
- Clean and maintain department equipment including fryers, slicers, dishwashers
- Maintain clean and sanitary department by washing parts, tables, wrapping stations, taking out trash, cleaning floors and coolers
- Receive inventory, stock and verify receipt of ordered product and orders
- Follow strict sanitary guidelines and complete associated records
- Perform other duties as assigned or needed
- Understand and follow all food safety procedures and requirements
