Job Requirements
- Must be 16 years of age or older
- Ability to work varied shifts in a 24/7 operation including night, weekends and holidays
- Ability to communicate (hearing and speech) effectively with customers to receive orders and perform customer relation skills
- Ability to conduct visual inspections, read and follow production guides, recipes and product labels, log production quantities and temperature readings on proper forms
- Ability to perform basic math (add, subtract, divide and multiply) and compute weights and measures
- Ability to perform duties with mental alertness involving potential hazards with respect to related procedures, equipment (e.g., knives) and work aides
- Completion of training courses and meeting minimum time standards of productivity and accuracy
- Ability to wear hair net, beard net and gloves and other personal protective equipment as required
- Ability to use cleaning chemicals and handle related food products
- Ability to stand, walk and move rapidly for extended periods of time
- Ability to bend, stoop, twist, turn and reach over the counter and in tight areas frequently
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally and reach, push and pull racks
- Ability to handle refrigerated goods (-20F to 28F)
- Ability to work around machinery emitting heat (400F rotisserie and 325F hot shortening)
- Must have Food Handlers Certification as per state laws
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in food service or retail preferred
- Knowledge of food safety standards and procedures
- Ability to operate kitchen and production equipment
- Strong customer service skills
- Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
- Ability to work varied shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Food Handlers Certification as required by state laws
- Ability to communicate effectively via hearing and speech
- Ability to perform duties with mental alertness and attention to safety
- Physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to work in refrigerated and heated environments
Job Duties
- Assist customers by providing over-the-counter and general customer service in the Fresh Foods department
- Operate and maintain fresh food production areas such as Deli, Seafood, and Pizza sections
- Prepare, stock, display, straighten, and rotate fresh food products
- Follow recipes, food safety procedures, and specified cooking times to prepare production items
- Handle frozen products safely
- Inspect all products for quality and freshness
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of department equipment and work areas
- Receive, verify, and stock inventory
- Follow strict sanitary guidelines and complete related records
- Place proper signage on products including pricing and code dating
- Operate equipment such as fryers, ovens, slicers, and dishwashers
- Collaborate with team members to meet productivity and accuracy standards
- Perform other duties as assigned or needed
