Job Requirements

  • Must be 16 years of age or older
  • must comply with all food safety procedures
  • ability to work varied shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • ability to communicate effectively in hearing and speech
  • ability to perform basic math calculations
  • ability to read and follow production guides and recipes
  • physical ability to stand, walk, bend, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in varying temperature environments
  • ability to wear required protective equipment including hair net, beard net, and gloves
  • ability to use cleaning chemicals safely
  • ability to handle machinery and equipment such as knives, slicers, fryers, and ovens
  • completion of food safety training and meet productivity standards
  • ability to maintain cleanliness and sanitation in the department

Job Qualifications

  • Ability to work varied shifts in a 24/7 operation including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • ability to communicate effectively with customers, including hearing and speech skills
  • ability to conduct visual inspections, read and follow production guides, recipes, and product labels
  • ability to log production quantities, temperature readings, and other relevant data accurately
  • basic math skills including addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication
  • mental alertness to handle potential hazards related to equipment and work procedures
  • completion of training with minimum standards of productivity and accuracy
  • ability to wear hair net, beard net, gloves, and other personal protective equipment as required
  • knowledge and safe use of cleaning chemicals and food products
  • physical ability to stand, walk, move rapidly for extended periods, bend, stoop, twist, turn, and reach in tight areas
  • ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally and handle reaching, pushing, and pulling of racks
  • ability to work in cold and heat environments related to refrigerated goods and machinery
  • minimum age of 16 years
  • efficient and accurate performance of primary duties
  • Food Handlers Certification as required by state laws

Job Duties

  • Seek opportunities to welcome, engage, serve, and thank customers
  • maintain an atmosphere of friendly, enthusiastic customer service
  • take orders, answer questions, and perform suggestive selling
  • prepare, stock, display, straighten, and rotate product in fresh food areas such as Deli, Seafood, and Pizza
  • prepare production items according to recipes, food safety procedures, and specified cooking times
  • handle frozen product
  • inspect all product for quality and freshness
  • prepare case by putting the product in fresh pans, rotating product, filling, etc.
  • place proper signage on products including pricing, description, code dating, and COOL information
  • clean and maintain department equipment such as fryers, slicers, dishwashers
  • maintain clean and sanitary department by washing parts, tables, wrapping stations, taking trash to balers, cleaning floors and coolers, and maintaining glass display counters
  • receive inventory, stock, verify receipt of ordered product and orders
  • follow strict sanitary guidelines and complete associated records
  • perform other assigned duties
  • understand and follow all food safety procedures and requirements
