Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Prior experience in warehousing, freight handling, or fork lift operations
- Ability to lift/carry heavy loads
- Ability to perform basic math
- Ability to bend, twist, squat, push/pull freight
- Ability to work independently or in a team
- Basic communication skills
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Prior experience in warehousing, freight handling and/or fork lift operations preferred
- Experience with hostler/yard mule duties preferred
- Ability to count and perform basic math, with or without a calculator
- Basic written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to lift/carry hand freight of varying weights several times a week, to lift dock plates weighing approximately 100 pounds, and to open trailer doors requiring approximately 75 pounds of lift force, up to several times per day or more
- Ability to bend, twist, squat, pushing/pulling freight throughout shift
- Ability to work independently and/or as a team member
- Previous dock/warehouse experience preferred
Job Duties
- Engage in the handling of goods for transportation utilizing suitable motorized and manual tools such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks
- Confirm that the documentation aligns with the freight details such as the type of items, their weight, and whether they include any hazardous materials by utilizing the existing electronic or manual systems
- Safeguard cargo within trailers by utilizing suitable equipment and materials such as pallets, straps, and ropes
- Assist with the recovery and restoration of impaired cargo as required
- Validate and finalize essential paperwork and records
- Aide clients with cargo and associated paperwork when requested
- Execute hosting responsibilities when necessary
- Adhere to all relevant laws and regulations, along with the established policies and procedures of the organization
- Fulfill additional tasks as necessary
