Job Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Ability to read and speak the English language sufficiently to communicate with co-workers, supervisors, and managers
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide two-digit numbers
- Ability to understand detailed written and oral instructions
- Ability to prioritize and problem solve in time sensitive or safety sensitive situations
- Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 75 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds
- Ability to sit, stand or walk for extended periods
- Ability to use hands, fingers, arms, and feet to steer and operate equipment controls
- Ability to kneel, stoop or crouch to examine equipment and cargo
- Willingness to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) such as hard hat, safety toe shoes/boots, gloves, chemical splash suits, safety glasses/goggles, hearing protection, respiratory protection, and arctic gear
- Ability to work in outside weather conditions including extreme cold and wet conditions

- Ability to respond to inquiries and to make entries on reports and records

- Ability to prioritize and problem solve in time/safety-sensitive situations
Job Duties
- Attendance and timeliness are essential functions of this position
- Inspect all yard equipment for defects before, during and after shift
- Complete and submit daily vehicle inspection forms indicating equipment condition
- Keep yard area and site storage areas organized and clean
- Operate forklifts and yard equipment in safe, responsible manner
- Connect and disconnect trailers from tractor or from converter dollies
- Report all safety hazards and/or incidents involving cargo, vehicles, driver, personnel, or citizens at large
- Assist with grounds maintenance as assigned throughout all seasons as directed by supervisor
- Remain flexible to respond to the changing needs of the organization and the operations department
- Perform all duties and operate all company vehicles and equipment in safe and responsible manner
- Comply with all company safety policies, including use of protective equipment and Fit for Work
- Perform other duties as assigned
