Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum three years of client contact experience
- Knowledge of domestic and international geography
- Ability to handle high-volume and complex imports and exports
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work productively under pressure
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Familiarity with shipment documentation and regulatory compliance
- Proficient computer skills with MS Office applications
- Ability to maintain discretion and independent judgment in job duties
Job Qualifications
- Three years of experience in a client-facing role
- Familiarity with domestic and international geography including countries and cities
- Excellent mathematical skills relevant to freight measurements and conversions
- Proficient communication skills both written and verbal
- Experience with freight forwarding preferred
- Prior use of CargoWise One software is a plus
- Proficiency in English reading, writing, and verbal communication
- Computer literacy including extensive use of MS Outlook, Excel, and Word
Job Duties
- Promote positive relationships by ensuring excellent, timely, and proactive customer service
- Receive, review, and process high-volume and complex import and export transactions including booking and billing
- Check shipments in the warehouse to ensure shipping documents correspond to actual shipments
- Process bills of lading and provide clear instructions to handling teams
- Ensure shipments of hazardous materials comply with all applicable government regulations
- Create quotations for individual shipments including price estimation and selecting transportation companies
- Review and monitor shipper export declaration rejections and respond to client and government inquiries
- Adhere to domestic and international shipping regulations and communicate procedural changes
- Identify and resolve transactions requiring special handling and recommend process improvements
- Investigate and resolve client concerns proactively while monitoring team performance
- Alert clients to potential issues in the shipping process
