Job Duties

  • maintain line of sight/atmosphere control by circulating through work area during shift
  • follow House of Blues safety, health, and sanitation standards
  • assist other employees as needed
  • follow opening and closing procedures, checking out with manager on duty
  • adhere to all HOB policies and procedures
  • ensure responsible alcohol service per local ordinance and HOB alcohol policies
  • request proper identification for anyone appearing under 30 years of age
  • recognize when guests are becoming too intoxicated and refuse further service of alcohol in a courteous and safety-minded manner, bringing it to the attention of a manager
  • occasionally work special events scheduled within the venue
  • handle side duties including stocking ice bins, liquor, beer, wine, and coolers, including lifting/moving up to 25 lbs
  • clean and assist with maintaining bar equipment
  • put all trash and recyclable products in proper receptacles
  • ensure that trash containers are clean, free of odor and lined, operating the trash compactor per policy
  • par all bars per venue specifications
