Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • One or more years of experience in security or law enforcement field or successful completion of law enforcement, corrections, security, technical school or police academy program or current or past membership in military organization or successful completion of two years full-time college coursework in relevant field
  • Current valid State driver's license
  • Ability to acquire a military driver’s license and/or airfield flight line permit
  • Ability to obtain SECRET security clearance during probation
  • Ability to carry and qualify with firearms in accordance with standards
  • Ability to obtain Department of Defense Common Access Card (CAC) after background check
  • Willingness to work night and weekend shifts
  • Ability to safely operate around moving aircraft and in adverse weather conditions
  • Ability to work alone for long periods
  • Must wear uniform and body armor
  • No enlistment in or eligibility for Vermont National Guard required

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in security, law enforcement, or military
  • Completion of law enforcement, corrections, security, technical school or police academy program
  • Current or past military service in Active or Reserve/National Guard
  • Completion of two years full-time college coursework in law enforcement, criminal justice or homeland security
  • Ability to lawfully possess and qualify with firearms
  • Ability to obtain Department of Defense Common Access Card upon passing federal background check

Job Duties

  • Secure and safeguard military aircraft, hangars, and specialized buildings
  • Control entry of military and civilian personnel, contractors, VIPs, and visitors
  • Provide limited military law enforcement services
  • Work in a military 911 dispatch center as needed
  • Maintain individual duty post certifications through testing and exercises
  • Operate safely in restricted areas and around moving aircraft
  • Carry firearms and wear uniform and body armor while on duty
