Job Requirements
- candidate must be in good mental and physical condition, able to read and write, understand basic math, and follow oral instructions
- be willing to cooperate with supervisors, fellow employees, and other department personnel, and possess a high degree of personal cleanliness and hygiene
- required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status
- knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
- strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with students, staff, and parents
- passion for promoting healthy eating habits and creating a positive dining experience for the students

Job Duties
- assist in the preparation and service of all meals that meet nutritional guidelines and the district's approach to feeding
- participate in the district's farm-to-school program, promoting the use of locally sourced ingredients
- engage students through various initiatives to make meals more appealing and desirable
- maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, following food safety and sanitation guidelines
- collaborate with the food services team to develop and implement new menu ideas and strategies based on student communication
- assist in the preparation of meals and the setup of the cafeteria
- check with kitchen manager for daily preparation work assignments
