Job Requirements

  • No education required
  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods
  • Physical stamina to carry heavy trays
  • Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Strong communication skills to relay information between kitchen and guests

  • Ability to maintain composure in fast-paced environment

Job Qualifications

  • Previous restaurant experience is a plus but not required
  • Ability to stand and walk for 6 to 8 hour shifts
  • Capable of carrying heavy trays up to 35 to 50 pounds with balance and dexterity
  • Able to remain calm, professional, and organized in a high-pressure environment
  • Excellent memory for table numbers and sharp eye for plate presentation
  • Flexible schedule availability including nights, weekends, and holidays

Job Duties

  • Promptly and accurately deliver food orders from the kitchen to the correct guest using memorized table numbers and pivot points
  • Inspect every plate before it leaves the kitchen to ensure it meets standards for accuracy, garnish, and temperature
  • Act as the primary liaison between front-of-house and back-of-house, relaying special requests, dietary restrictions, or order issues to chefs
  • Anticipate guest needs by providing condiments, extra silverware, or refills upon delivery
  • Assist servers and bussers by clearing empty plates and glassware between courses to keep dining areas clean
  • Keep the expeditor or running station stocked with essential supplies such as garnishes, sauces, and clean tray liners
