Job Requirements
- Must obtain and maintain a valid Food Handler’s Certificate
- Must pass pre-employment drug and alcohol testing
- Must pass a Motor Vehicle Record check
- Must pass a criminal background check
- Ability to occasionally ascend or descend ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, and poles
- Ability to remain stationary, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods
- Ability to adjust or move objects up to 100 pounds in all directions
- Ability to operate machinery and/or power tools
- Ability to work in low and high temperatures and noisy environments
- Ability to work in hazardous and adverse environmental conditions
- Ability to carry objects weighing up to 100 pounds or more
- Must be able to communicate effectively in both English and Spanish
- Must follow Webb County policies
Job Qualifications
- Knowledge of food handling and safety techniques
- Knowledge of hygiene practices
- Ability to deal with the public tactfully
- Ability to follow directions and work independently and in teams
- Ability to accurately calculate the number of servings
- Ability to communicate orally and in writing in the English language and orally in the Spanish language
Job Duties
- Practice proper food handling techniques and food safety procedures to prevent food contamination and poisoning
- Follow safety procedures within the kitchen to promote a safe working environment
- Ensure all food products (hot and cold) are kept in the proper thermal carrying bag
- Perform cleaning duties to meet sanitation requirements
- Assist with the overall cleaning of all pots and pans
- Deliver meals promptly to comply with HHSC guidelines
- Serve food and beverages to meet client’s nutritional needs
- Ensure the equipment is in good working order and request repair work as needed
- Attend and participate in all mandatory training requirements
- Perform any other duties assigned
