Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
  • Ability to lift and move heavy pallets and equipment
  • Willingness to work in inclement weather
  • Reliable transportation to and from work
  • Ability to follow scheduled routes and communicate changes
  • Ability to pass background checks as required by the agency

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
  • Experience in delivery driving or logistics preferred
  • Ability to operate pallet jacks and other warehouse equipment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Commitment to agency values including anti-racism and equity

Job Duties

  • Deliver food and non-food items to Seattle food banks five days a week including loading and unloading the truck
  • Count verify and ensure all items on pallets match pick list and resolve discrepancies
  • Document and communicate any issues with pallets spilled or stacked incorrectly
  • Issue order forms to food banks for verification and signature
  • Pick up and return pallets bread trays milk cartons wooden bins to warehouses as required
  • Perform daily vehicle and equipment inspections including pre and post trip checks and air brake tests
  • Communicate vehicle or equipment issues to program manager and schedule maintenance
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with food bank warehouse staff and volunteers
  • Troubleshoot delivery and mechanical problems and recommend process improvements
  • Complete reports and activity logs as required
  • Participate in agency training meetings and anti-racism initiatives
