Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- minimum two years of food services experience
- familiarity with agency policies, procedures and regulations
- knowledge of food preparation methods, materials and appliances
- understanding of sanitation and safety procedures
- knowledge of bakery and meat-processing processes
- ability to maintain records and prepare reports
- effective communication skills
- teamwork ability and people skills
Job Qualifications

- ability to maintain simple records and prepare written reports

Job Duties
- Prepare and serve breakfast, lunch and dinner to cadets
- cook meats, vegetables, sandwiches, soups, gravies and various other food products
- unload and store food products
- inspect prepared food for palatability, appearance and conformance with menus, recipes and diets
- measure prescribed quantities for food and baking products
- prepare and serve food from food lines, at tables or on trays for delivery
- assist with cooking, baking or meat-cutting tasks in a trainee status
- assist in the storage, purchase, preparation and serving of food while training cadets on food service and handling
- inspect and maintain DFAC equipment
- maintain a clean working environment
- provide work direction to new employees
- perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
