Job Requirements

  • High school diploma
  • at least 3 years of supervisor experience or equivalent cooking experience
  • ServSafe certified
  • ability to work with minimal supervision
  • ability to read and follow recipe cards and production sheets
  • knowledge of food procurement, storage, preparation, distribution, and serving
  • familiarity with dietary menu planning and food service management
  • knowledge of sanitary and safety procedures
  • good record-keeping skills

Job Qualifications

  • experience in quantity and quality cooking or baking
  • ServSafe certification
  • ability to read and prepare meals using recipe cards and production sheets

  • ability to maintain food service records and prepare reports

Job Duties

  • Works under the supervision of the Lead Cook in a small to medium-sized food service unit
  • assists with inspections
  • conducts staff training
  • oversees staff job duties
  • helps as a backup in the preparation and cooking/baking of food products
  • becomes familiar with headcount/cashier procedures
  • manages meal adjustment and appearance of the serving line
  • posts meal requirements
  • assists with shift coverage
