Job Requirements

  • At least two years food preparation experience in a high volume food service environment
  • Must have current State of Illinois Food Sanitation certification or obtain within six months of hire
  • If no valid license prior to hire, Serve Safe Food Handler certification required within 30 days of hire
  • Availability to work 100 percent FTE day shifts including every other weekend early mornings
  • Ability to work Monday through Friday shifts as scheduled

Job Qualifications

  • At least two years of food preparation experience in high-volume food service
  • Current State of Illinois Food Sanitation certification or ability to obtain within six months
  • Serve Safe Food Handler certification if no valid license at hire
  • Ability to follow strict food safety and hygiene protocols
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Ability to work early morning and day shift schedules

Job Duties

  • Prepare and cook food items according to menu specifications and quality standards
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen and food preparation areas
  • Adhere to state and hospital food safety regulations and guidelines
  • Manage time efficiently to meet meal production schedules
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operation during shifts
  • Cover AM grill cook shifts as scheduled
  • Monitor food stock and report shortages
