Job Requirements
- Be at least 19 years old
- Pass a drug screening
- Successfully complete background checks including criminal, sex offender, and national registries
- Ability to stand for long periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting, pulling, and squatting
- Willingness to work overtime and flexible shifts
- Must comply with facility’s work schedule including rotating shifts, evenings, weekends, and holidays
- If required, hold a valid driver’s license and obtain Florida license within 30 days if initially out-of-state
Job Qualifications
- Knowledge of general food safety and sanitation practices
- Ability to use necessary kitchen equipment
- Basic math skills including measuring and adding
- Previous experience in food preparation preferred
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and recipes
- Strong attention to cleanliness and hygiene
- Ability to work rotating shifts including weekends and holidays
Job Duties
- Prepare all types of foods from preliminary stage and cook to finished state
- Follow set menu or special diet orders as directed by Food Service Director
- Set up and break down food service line
- Conduct general cleaning duties in kitchen, storage, dish room, and food service line
- Wash dishes, pots, pans, and utensils using approved sanitation methods
- Carry trash and refuse to garbage disposal and dumpster
- Assist in unloading and loading delivery trucks
- Complete documentation for Child Nutrition Programs including temperature logs and storage records
- Use all required food service equipment including food processor, slicer, fryer, and mixer
- Adhere to food safety guidelines and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point requirements
- Verify foods are stored, prepared, and served at correct temperatures
- Attend training and incorporate learned information into daily duties
