Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Associates degree preferred
  • 2+ years supervisory experience in high volume manufacturing, food production, restaurant or catering environment preferred
  • Must have strong leadership skills
  • Ability to manage 30+ hourly employees
  • Ability to train others
  • Ability to provide feedback daily to employees
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Basic computer skills with Microsoft Office
  • Ability to obtain ServSafe Certification
  • ServSafe Certification preferred
  • Must communicate clearly in English
  • Bi-lingual skills a plus
  • Knowledge of labor relations a plus
  • Must comply with all company policies and procedures
  • Ability to work full-time
  • Must be able to evaluate and coach employees
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities.

Job Duties

  • Ensures quality production standards are maintained for all accounts
  • Maintains company policies and procedures as well as specification books for airline customers and serves as a knowledgeable resource
  • Controls food cost and other controllable costs
  • Works with management staff to improve performance of the unit
  • Prepares management reports such as attendance, HACCP and labor reports
  • Responsible for safety, quality and compliance with customer specifications, regulatory requirements, and company policies
  • Ensures specifications, airline diagrams, and other standards are accurate
  • Ensures all products are coded according to Gate Gourmet procedures
  • Conducts inventory of products and customer materials to ensure proper usage and minimize waste
  • Completes requisitions for the Storeroom to maintain adequate supply
  • Maintains daily temperature logs and other required reports
  • Works with maintenance staff to ensure preventive maintenance of machinery and reports issues promptly
  • Responsible for employee performance evaluation, coaching, counseling, and corrective actions
  • Manages workflow balancing and shift responsibilities
  • Determines staffing needs and calls in employees as necessary
  • Ensures compliance with wage and hour policies including rest and meal breaks
  • Trains and monitors employees for maximum productivity
  • Monitors manpower planning and schedules employees
  • Responsible for employee retention and reducing turnover
  • Ensures employees complete all required training including ServSafe
  • Reviews wage rates and job titles for accuracy
  • Complies with union agreements and company policies
  • Coaches and counsels employees following applicable collective bargaining agreements
  • Reviews employee job classifications and pay rates
  • Ensures proper training and process compliance.
