Job Requirements

  • no experience required
  • requires knowledge of basic food safety, infection control and sanitation
  • serve safe training may be required depending on location
  • isdoh certification of food handler under title 410 iac 7-22 may be required at some locations
  • requires ability to stand and/or walk for long periods of time
  • also, requires lifting, pushing, pulling, bending and kneeling

Job Qualifications

  • high school diploma, ged or equivalent experience preferred
  • basic computer skills and knowledge of the cbord system relative to job responsibilities preferred
  • ability to communicate effectively with diverse customers
  • willingness to adhere to food safety and infection control protocols
  • strong customer service orientation
  • physical stamina to perform tasks involving standing, walking, lifting, pushing, pulling, bending, and kneeling

Job Duties

  • prepares food items and plates meals according to established standards
  • serves food and supplies to patients, family members, physicians, employees, and the public
  • transports food and supplies efficiently within the hospital
  • ensures quick, accurate, and courteous customer service
  • resolves customer concerns promptly and professionally
  • maintains sanitation, cleaning, and infection control practices adhering to food safety standards
  • operates food service and computer equipment as required
