Job Requirements
- no experience required
- requires knowledge of basic food safety, infection control and sanitation
- serve safe training may be required depending on location
- isdoh certification of food handler under title 410 iac 7-22 may be required at some locations
- requires ability to stand and/or walk for long periods of time
- also, requires lifting, pushing, pulling, bending and kneeling
Job Qualifications
- high school diploma, ged or equivalent experience preferred
- basic computer skills and knowledge of the cbord system relative to job responsibilities preferred
- ability to communicate effectively with diverse customers
- willingness to adhere to food safety and infection control protocols
- strong customer service orientation
- physical stamina to perform tasks involving standing, walking, lifting, pushing, pulling, bending, and kneeling
Job Duties
- prepares food items and plates meals according to established standards
- serves food and supplies to patients, family members, physicians, employees, and the public
- transports food and supplies efficiently within the hospital
- ensures quick, accurate, and courteous customer service
- resolves customer concerns promptly and professionally
- maintains sanitation, cleaning, and infection control practices adhering to food safety standards
- operates food service and computer equipment as required
