Job Requirements
- Requires valid California drivers license
- must provide DMV report prior to offer being made
- no driving infractions 5 years prior to hire or during time in this job

Job Duties
- Thoroughly cleans all cooking implements, equipment, and serving pieces
- stores clean items in correct location
- clears dirty trays from cafe and patient carts
- delivers and picks up patient carts to and from units
- sweeps and mops floors, washes work tables, walls, and refrigerators
- scrapes food from dirty dishes, pots and pans and washes them by hand or places them in dishwashing machine
- transfers supplies and equipment between storage and work areas
- cleans equipment using appropriate chemicals to ensure sanitary standards
- checks trays for accuracy to menu
- moves carts loaded with dishes or trays to appropriate areas
- delivers patient trays upon request
- correctly operates dishroom equipment
- checks and documents dish machine temperatures and takes appropriate action if not within range
- disposes of garbage according to department standards
- assists with catering setup and cleanup
- responsible for food preparation
- tastes products, reads menus, estimates food requirements, checks production, and keeps records
- monitors all food service areas to ensure foods are properly covered, labeled, and dated
- visits patients for food selections ensuring meal selections are within therapeutic diet
- operates a cash register, handles payments, and maintains cash security
- selects recipes per menu cycle, prepares bakery items, receives, inventories, moves and lifts foodstuffs and supplies
- assists cook in food preparation as assigned
- cleans and stocks work areas
- sets up trayline stations and assembles trays as a team
- sweeps and mops floors in tray makeup area
- cleans and sanitizes work areas and equipment
- follows proper safe handling procedures including use of personal protective equipment
- performs other duties as assigned
