Job Duties
- thoroughly clean all cooking implements, equipment, and serving pieces
- store clean items correctly
- clear dirty trays from cafe and patient carts
- deliver and pick up patient carts
- sweep and mop floors
- wash work tables, walls, and refrigerators
- scrape and wash dishes, pots, and pans
- transfer supplies and equipment manually or with carts
- clean equipment with appropriate chemicals
- operate dishroom and tray line equipment
- check trays for accuracy
- deliver patient trays
- check and document dish machine temperatures
- dispose of garbage according to standards
- monitor food service areas for proper coverage, labeling, and dating of foods
- assist with catering setup and cleanup
- prepare food and bakery items
- visit patients for food selections and preferences
- maintain pantry and refrigeration records
- assist in retail food service operations including cash handling
- stock beverage and work areas
- assemble trays and maintain hygiene in tray line
- follow HACCP guidelines
- maintain cleanliness and organization in work areas
- use proper personal protective equipment
- perform other assigned duties
