Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid California Drivers License
  • Clean driving record for five years including no DUI or reckless driving
  • Ability to read and communicate in English
  • Food service experience preferred
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and safety protocols
  • Willingness to work variable shifts including weekends and holidays

Job Qualifications

  • Valid California Drivers License with no suspensions or infractions in the last five years
  • Food service experience preferred
  • Ability to read and communicate effectively in English
  • Knowledge of proper food handling and sanitation practices
  • Ability to operate dishwashing and kitchen equipment
  • Customer service skills for retail and patient interactions
  • Understanding of cash handling policies and procedures
  • Ability to follow HACCP guidelines
  • Basic math skills for money handling
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Job Duties

  • Thoroughly cleans cooking implements, equipment, and serving pieces
  • Clears dirty trays from cafe and patient carts
  • Delivers and picks up patient carts to and from units
  • Sweeps and mops floors, washes work tables, walls, and refrigerators
  • Scrapes food from dirty dishes and washes them by hand or dishwashing machine
  • Transfers supplies and equipment between storage and work areas
  • Cleans and sanitizes equipment using appropriate chemicals
  • Checks tray accuracy against menu
  • Moves carts loaded with dishes or trays
  • Delivers patient trays upon request
  • Assists with catering setup and cleanup
  • Prepares food in cold food production or cook's helper role
  • Monitors and records refrigerator and pantry supplies
  • Operates cash register and handles cash transactions in retail area
  • Prepares bakery items and special diet meals
  • Follows HACCP guidelines for food safety
  • Stocks work areas and maintains cleanliness
  • Monitors food coverage, labeling, and dating
  • Assures proper disposal of garbage
  • Assists in trayline setup and clean-up
  • Rolls silverware
  • Sweeps and mops floors in tray make-up areas
  • Uses personal protective equipment as required
  • Performs other duties as assigned
