Job Requirements
- must be 18 years or older
- high school diploma or GED
- able to pass background check
- physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and push/pull 100 lbs
- able to stand or walk for extended periods
- accustomed to fast-paced and demanding environment
- willing to work nights and weekends
- effective communication skills
- able to handle exposure to chemicals and varying temperatures
- basic understanding of food safety
- comply with tuberculosis testing policy
Job Qualifications
- high school diploma or GED
- proficient in using kitchen tools and small equipment
- skilled in safe and sanitary food handling
- basic math skills for measurements and inventory
- effective reading and communication skills in English
- knowledge of nutrition and portion control
- understanding of time and attendance systems
- ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- ServSafe certification preferred
- previous food service experience preferred
Job Duties
- prepare food following recipes and portion control standards
- measure, weigh, and combine ingredients for menu items
- operate kitchen utensils and industrial equipment such as ovens, knives, peelers, dicers, slicers, mixers, and dishwashers
- serve food courteously with proper portion control and menu knowledge
- transport hot or cold food items safely and efficiently
- wash, sanitize, and store kitchen utensils and equipment
- clean dishes, tables, counters, floors, and serving areas
- assist with special university events and catering needs
- support other food service staff as needed
